Love The New RPG Resin!
We've switched our store from a combination of Aqua 8K and Anycubic Tough resins to now using the new RPG resin exclusively! The finish is great, durability is greatly enhanced, supports come off easily, and details are still amazing.

For tabletop miniatures, it's great
Compared to their 8K resin, the RPG resin is absolutely an improvement for printing miniatures. I switched because I kept breaking off small pieces, like weapons. The level of detail is also very similar, I'd say to the extent of being unnoticeable. Also, I'm surprised by how much easier removing the supports before curing is with the RPG resin. Really saves my hands

Great resin, probably a little overpriced
This resin is absurdly good for tabletop miniatures. When your printer is properly dialed in it can crank out really impressive details and offers a notable increase in durability/flexibility compared to a lot of other resins. If you have the extra money, using this is probably preferable to buying expensive flexible resins to mix in with your less expensive ABS-like resins to get similar results.

Phrozen RPG Resin for durability
I was using aqua resin but needed something more durable for printing some of my sculptures. The RPG holds up to any rough handling as well as to shipping sculptures to clients. It would be nice if the cost was as low as the aqua grey but for fragile parts I would recommend the RPG.

Better Protection for Thin, Fragile Parts
One of the biggest frustrations in tabletop gaming is dropping a model and watching the sword snap. With an impact strength of 56.2 J/m, RPG Resin offers much stronger impact resistance than typical resins. In a1 meterdrop test, the weapon on a 28 mm miniature remained intact.

Bends Without Snapping
Thin parts such as cloak edges, banner poles, and staffs usually require extra care when printed in standard resin. With 35.5% elongation, RPG Resin can flex under stress and spring back instead of cracking, so you can assemble and handle your models with more confidence.

Ultra-Fine Supports for Easier Cleanup
Standard support tips are usually around 0.3-0.5mm, and removing them often leaves sanding work behind. RPG Resin supports can be as fine as 0.08 mm, making contact points much less visible. On a 28 mm miniature, support removal and cleanup can be completed much faster, so you can move on to painting sooner.
Lychee Presets Ready to Load and Print
Switching to a new resin often means spending time dialing in settings, and a poor setup can lead to failed prints. RPG Resin includes official preset profiles in Lychee Slicer, so once you select your Phrozen printer, key settings such as exposure time and lift speed are already prepared. This helps reduce setup time and makes it easier to get to a successful print faster.
From D&D Miniatures to Wargaming Armies, RPG Resin Handles It All
-
Is RPG Resin suitable for printing Warhammer, D&D, or tabletop miniatures?
Yes. RPG Resin is well suited for printing Warhammer, D&D, and other tabletop miniatures because it is designed to protect thin, fragile parts such as swords, spears, banner poles, and wings. These areas are the most likely to break during gameplay or transport. Its high-toughness, impact-resistant formula helps the model absorb stress through slight flex instead of breaking outright, so your miniatures can hold up better during handling and play.
-
Is RPG Resin suitable for GK kits, statues, or large character models?
Yes. RPG Resin is especially well suited to thin or fragile parts. Details such as hair strands, weapons, decorative chains, and tentacles are often the first parts to break on larger statue models. If you want both durability and fine detail, you can print the main body with a higher-detail resin and use RPG Resin for thin or fragile components.
-
Is RPG Resin a good choice for a miniature printing service?
Yes, especially for print studios that need to deliver consistent quality. Even when a print succeeds, breakage during support removal can still lead to wasted time, added labor, and costly reprints. RPG Resin’s high-toughness formula helps reduce damage during post-processing and shipping, while also lowering the labor and material costs associated with breakage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is RPG Resin different from other high-resolution resin?
How is RPG Resin different from other high-resolution resin?
The biggest difference is its toughness and impact resistance, which make it especially suitable for tabletop and miniature printing. With a Notched Izod impact strength of 56.2 J/m, thin parts such as swords, horns, and wings are less likely to break than they are with standard high-resolution resins, while still retaining clear detail.
What kinds of models is RPG Resin suitable for?
What kinds of models is RPG Resin suitable for?
RPG Resin is especially suitable for models with thin or fragile structures. Common use cases include wargaming miniatures, D&D characters, board game figures, and fine-detail parts on GK statues, mecha models, and monster sculpts. Its toughness and impact resistance help reduce the chance of breakage during support removal, transport, or gameplay.
What colors does Phrozen RPG Resin come in?
What colors does Phrozen RPG Resin come in?
RPG Resin is available in Gray, Beige, and Smoke White. Gray makes sculpted detail and surface quality easier to inspect, while Beige and Smoke White work well as painting base colors.Their matte finish also helps reduce extra surface preparation before priming.
How detailed are prints made with RPG Resin?
How detailed are prints made with RPG Resin?
While providing high toughness, RPG Resin can still deliver high-resolution detail. With proper print settings and fine support structures, it can clearly reproduce facial expressions, armor engravings, and equipment details on miniatures, making it suitable for both tabletop gaming and model creation.
What 3D printers are compatible with RPG Resin? Do I need a 16K printer?
What 3D printers are compatible with RPG Resin? Do I need a 16K printer?
RPG Resin is compatible with 405 nm LCD / MSLA resin 3D printers. This includesPhrozenSonic Mighty Revo 16K, Sonic Mighty 8K, Sonic Mega 8K S, and other main stream models such as the Elegoo Saturn and Anycubic Photon. A 16K printer is not required for good results, but a higher-resolution machine can reproduce surface texture and miniature detail more completely.
Can RPG Resin be used indoors? Does it have a strong odor?
Can RPG Resin be used indoors? Does it have a strong odor?
Yes. RPG Resin is a low-odor formula and can be used for typical hobby printing with basic indoor ventilation. For small studios running larger print volumes, adding an air purifier can help keep the workspace more comfortable. You can also use a printing enclosure to keep the printing and cleaning process neater and easier to manage.
How should RPG Resin prints be cleaned and cured after printing?
How should RPG Resin prints be cleaned and cured after printing?
To maintain the resin’s intended toughness and impact resistance, prints should be cleaned fully and cured under UV after printing. Incomplete curing may affect final mechanical performance. A Phrozen Wash & Cure Kit is recommended for post-processing, with a typical curing time of around 2-4 minutes
Recommended Accessories
-
Phrozen Aqua Hyperfine
If you want finer detail for display pieces or competition painting, Phrozen Aqua Hyperfine is a strong complement to RPG Resin. It can be paired with RPG Resin to balance fine detail and durability in the same project.
-
Phrozen Wash & Cure Kit Complete Post-Processing
Proper cleaning and curing help maintain the toughness and impact resistance of RPG Resin prints. Inadequate curing can reduce performance. Recommended curing time is around 2-4 minutes in a UV wash-and-cure station.
-
Phrozen Air Purifier Max
Although RPG Resin is a low-odor formula, active air filtration is still helpful for long print sessions in enclosed spaces. It can make batch-printing environments more comfortable during extended use.
-
Phrozen Sonic Mighty Revo 16K
RPG Resin holds fine detail, but how much of it your printer can actually render depends on XY resolution. The Sonic Mighty Revo 16K at 14×19μm extracts armor engravings, chain mail rings, and facial expressions on 28mm figures that 4K–8K machine sleaves. If your prints are good but not quite sharp enough, the bottleneck is likely the printer, not the resin.
